About Gossaigaon College
Gossaigaon College Since its establishment in 1971, the College has been the sole provider of higher education for the entire Gossaigaon civil sub-division. Dedicated to serving the economically disadvantaged, its mission is to equip students with the skills necessary for gainful employment and civic engagement. Nestled in a rural landscape spanning 9.73 hectares, the campus boasts ample infrastructure amidst the tranquil embrace of Sal trees. Overcoming numerous challenges, the College has expanded its offerings to include major courses in both Arts and Science, accredited by Gauhati University. Its journey saw milestones like securing deficit grant-in-aid status in 1978, UGC recognition in 1990, and provincialization by the Assam government in 2005. Driven by a commitment to academic excellence, the College fosters a collaborative environment among faculty and staff. It supplements academic instruction with remedial and coaching classes, supported by UGC funding, to prepare students for competitive exams. Additionally, the NCC and NSS units provide avenues for holistic development, with notable achievements in camps and sports tournaments.
